There was a homeless man on a corner asking for work. Amid the fancy high-end cars stopped at the traffic light, I, in my little ole Kia Rio was the only one to give him a dollar and ask him, “How is it going?”
He took the dollar gratefully and said, “No one ever asks me that. People rarely talk to me. God bless you lady for seeing that I’m human just like you.”
We had a most amazing chat in the few moments before the light changed. In my rearview mirror, I saw him waving with the biggest smile.
Sometimes we all just need to be seen for the beautiful souls we are, despite times when we are struggling.
